Our History and Founder, Leslie Sobek
When I started this business over two decades ago, I understood how intimidating it could feel to reach out about a home repair or project. You might have a vision for your space, but not know the right questions to ask—or even where to start. I’ve been there.
Too often, I’d meet professionals who would show up, take measurements, and talk at me, without ever truly listening to my ideas. That’s why I built Mix It Up, a women-owned and operated small business that puts your vision at the heart of the process.
In 2014, I opened our current studio and workshop in south Overland Park and began growing our team. That was a game changer. Since then, Mix It Up KC has evolved into a full-scale kitchen and bath remodeler, completing hundreds of projects supported by our team and partnerships with professional designers, contractors and cabinetry builders.
